Costs

  • a. undergraduate
  • The total cost of a semester of study at the Institute includes room and board, key deposit, student activity fee, CTA U-Pass, facilities fee, faculty development fee, technology fee, medical insurance, books and supplies, personal expenses, and fees for some courses and majors. The first seven of these, required of all students in residence, total approximately $4,000 - $5,000 per semester for students housed in a double occupancy room. The cost of books and supplies is estimated at $200 - $400 per semester, while personal expenses may total $300 per semester, depending on the student’s needs and desires. Special fees for music, aviation, and other subjects are listed on the corresponding program sections. Students may estimate their semester expenses by totaling all applicable fees listed on the webpages, plus personal items.

      Graduate students may choose to live off campus or on campus. On-campus housing is limited. The Student Development Office helps to locate area housing.

      Jenkins Hall married and graduate students have the option of purchasing a meal plan. Please direct inquiries to Food Service.

      Deposits

      Continuing students are required to deposit $150 no later than the last day of final examinations to reserve residence hall space or to verify registration for the next semester. Your current school bill must have a zero balance before the enrollment deposit is accepted.
